Northern Virginia is a competitive force in global technology. But while the region is home to one of the largest concentrations of IT jobs, companies face a shortage of qualified professionals. The main objective is to create a new brand and website that will generate awareness of tech careers in the region, targeting a younger audience to make tech seem less intimidating and more fun.
Tech careers aren’t just about code on a screen – they’re about solving problems, finding patterns and thinking laterally. Vibrant and engaging, this chosen brand direction explores tech’s diverse pathways in a way that reflects the industry’s “think different” nature. A deconstructed logo evokes the idea of career pathways, and pairs with an emoticon-inspired mark that juxtaposes computer and human communication; an icon-like shield motif serves to bring together the collegiate with the cutting-edge. Bright colors and gradients challenge stereotypes of the “dark room” nature of tech, combining with abstract visuals and witty copy for a young, modern vibe. Oblique, unconventional and unexpected, it’s an approach that invites a turn of the head – and an all-new perspective on where tech pathways can take you.
